The Initiative

Diverse Governance is an education and advocacy body aiming to ensure corporate boards and organizations reflect diversity while maintaining good governance.


There is broadening recognition of the need for more equitable career advancement opportunities for people of various backgrounds and abilities. This type of transformational change within organizations takes hold when leaders at the top telegraph this importance, and ultimately reflect diversity themselves. Boards are a highly visible and essential tier of all large-scale employers, and present an important barometer of the success of diversity initiatives.


Beyond any moral impetus, board diversity is a proven method of unlocking value. Having a diverse board is not about meeting quotas, but rather matching the assorted fabric of any organization and the communities it operates within.


We exist to see more Diverse Boards through advocacy, corporate and executive education, and individual training.
